How Jesus Christ Glorified the Father: Part 5

How Jesus Christ Glorified the Father: Part 5

Pastor Dan Davidson

As we look at Christ’s prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, we see Jesus glorify God by fulfilling the Father’s plan and purpose, and we see his example we should follow. Today, we look at how we should examine our motives as we seek God’s help in times of suffering or testing.

Isaiah has summarized the problem of man’s evil character in chapter five. Essentially, evil is resident in each of us, but is president in some of us. Jesus and the Gospel of grace is the only answer to evil. Now Isaiah turns us to God’s glory in chapter 6, especially these first eight verse – “the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Isaiah 6:1-8

How Well Do You Know Jesus Christ? Part 2

How Well Do You Know Jesus Christ? Part 2

We continue our consideration of Hebrews 5:11-14 as we seek to know what it means to know our Lord Jesus Christ more fully. We have discovered that the writer wants to define their walk in faith, but they are not ready to apply the Scriptures to their lives and act upon their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Consequently, they are spiritually immature. This passages teaches us that if we would be mature as believers, we must desire to see Christ in Scripture, hear what He is telling us, and be willing to put His words into practice.

Why did God Make us? Simply put, for God’s glory. When we live for God’s Glory, He is pleased with us and His purpose is fulfilled. It is important to know that we also find the only real joy and purpose for our life. We must know Jesus personally, and not just know about Him.
